Food Cart

Living Word is collecting necessities for area families all year round in the grocery cart in the entryway. This collection is taken to the Medina Community Services Center each month to be distributed to those in need.

Depending on the time of the year, we ask for specific items. For example, in the summer we have collected items that can be used for lunches for kids who are home during the day: peanut butter, jelly, tuna, etc. In the fall we begin collecting for holiday dinners. This past January and February, we concentrated on all the absolutely necessary items for a clean home and a healthy person which, unfortunately, cannot be purchased with food stamps: toilet paper, paper towels, bar soap, shampoo, deodorant, diapers, toothpaste, dish soap, laundry soap, cleaning products, and garbage bags.

By checking monthly with the center, we are able to help fill their most pressing needs. Our current collections will always be listed in our newsletter and on our website below.

NOVEMBER:  Boxed Potatoes, fresh potatoes, frozen turkeys and large chickens.

DECEMBER:  Boxed and fresh potatoes and juice.
